Pascal Fouqué obtained his PhD in astrophysics in 1982 from the Université Paris 7 in Paris (France) working in radioastronomy and extragalactic distance scale. He then turned to infrared astronomy leading the DENIS survey of the southern sky at La Silla Observatory. He participated to the EROS experiment of detection of dark matter by microlensing and is now a member of the PLANET collaboration for search of exoplanets through microlensing technique. He also works on pulsating stars (Cepheids) as a precise tool to measure extragalactic distances. He is a researcher at the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Toulouse -Tarbes (LATT) at Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées (Université Toulouse 3). |
