Scitizen gives moderation control back to the scientific community in a system based on peer reviews.
You're a scientist? Join the Scitizen initiative! Become a reviewer and fact check the articles submitted under your field of research.
Any scientist can apply to become a subject reviewer: you just need to have recently published articles related to the subject in peer-reviewed literature.
And then?
Every submission to the site is embargoed for a 3 business day period and sent to a selected number of subject reviewers. The reviewers can write comments on the article, ask for revisions, accept it or reject it. After 3 days, if half or more of the reviewers have accepted the publication, the article is posted on the homepage and the discussion starts.
The review process is public. Comments and reviewer names are displayed on the site.
Scitizen will give all reviewers a high profile on this well trafficked site.
