This is an extract of the first presidential debate of the 2008 race sanctioned by the Democratic National Committee held in South Carolina on July 23, 2007. This was also the first presidential debate in which the questions were posed by members of public via Internet videos. It was sponsored by YouTube and CNN and features questions asked by YouTube viewers.
